Thijs Olthoff

"I joined Schut's team in June 2014. On 5 April 2018, I was sworn in as a civil-law notary by the Amsterdam District Court. I specialise in general and notarial corporate law, with a special focus on private equity, venture capital and start-up related matters. I have extensive experience in the field of national and international mergers and acquisitions, restructurings and joint ventures. I also advise on corporate governance and management participations.

I studied at the University of Groningen where I graduated in notarial law in 2001 and in tax law in 2002. During my studies, I studied for a semester at the University of Edinburgh. In addition to the usual notarial training courses, I completed the tax-related vocational training and the postgraduate Merger and Acquisitions course at VU Law Academy cum laude. I am co-founder and board member of the Pro Bono Club."
